RONNIE CAMPBELL
Ronnie Campbell is a devoted wife and mom, a Certified Health & Life Coach, and an accomplished cyclist, marathon runner and triathlete. At age 57, following what she believed would be a routine colonoscopy, Ronnie received a life-altering diagnosis: stage 4 colon cancer. She underwent surgery, but within just two weeks, she found out the cancer had already spread to her liver, lungs, peritoneum, and lymph nodes throughout her body.
Rather than accepting the statistics and lifespan "averages" placed in front of her, Ronnie chose to challenge them. She documented that journey in her book, Racing for a Miracle, sharing how she too, refused to believe those averages and ultimately beat colorectal cancer. Today, Ronnie has been in remission for more than five years!
On her podcast and in her speaking, Ronnie openly shares her cancer journey—the fear, the setbacks, and the determination it took to KEEP GOING forward. Through her mindset, resilience, and unwavering perseverance, she describes how she continued “pedaling uphill,” even when the climb felt impossible. Her guest episode on the Radical Remission Podcast serves as a platform for hope, healing, and inspiration for anyone facing adversity.
Ronnie has been—and continues to be—an incredible source of inspiration to me, offering encouragement and hope during my life’s most difficult moments.

Chris Cardany: Why I'm Hosting This Tournament

My name is Chris Cardany. My life completely changed within a few short hours on April 26, 2024, when I was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer after a routine (my first!) colonoscopy. What followed was a week in the hospital, four procedures, and worse news delivered each day. It was a very dark time. But everything started to shift when I was admitted into Dana-Farber Cancer Institute a few days later. I joined their full care team, dedicated to my outcome. I was surrounded by doctors in oncology, palliative care, integrative medicine, and a team of social workers, nutritionists, chaplains, a monthly metastatic GI video call group, and even a mentor—a 49-year-old who had beaten metastatic colon cancer. Every caregiver I encountered has been exceptional, focused entirely on me as their patient. Above all, from day one at Dana-Farber, they provided me with hope, which has been a crucial part of my healing process. With their help, I was eligible for surgery in early 2026 to remove the primary tumor which wasn’t even a possibility at the onset! Today, my treatment continues to stabilize the cancer while my care team continues to evaluate alternate options specific to me. I am physically active, maintaining a much better diet, a multi-teenage parent, and working full-time. Most days, I feel better than I ever have—but beating this disease is a marathon. I am just one of many stories at Dana-Farber, and there are countless others who also need help. Dana-Farber depends on funding to continue researching and ultimately finding a cure. That’s why 100% of the proceeds raised from this event will be donated to fund Dana-Farber’s colorectal cancer research. Let’s join forces and beat colorectal cancer together. I hope you’ll support this cause as we work toward a cure!
About Colorectal Cancer
The bad news
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S., with an estimated 53,000 deaths each year in 2024 and 2025. There were 154,000 new cases of CRC in 2025. CRC is now the leading cause of cancer deaths for men and women combined under 50 (it was the 5th leading cause in the 1990s). While death rates for most other major cancers are declining in young adults, CRC mortality has increased by approximately 1.1% ANNUALLY since 2005. Roughly 3 in 4 patients under 50 are often diagnosed with more advanced cancers due to delays in detection and not being aware of typical symptoms.
The good news
More than half of CRC diagnoses can be attributed to potentially modifiable risk factors, such as excess body weight and lifestyle choices, including long-term smoking and high intake of red or processed meat. People can reduce their risk by increasing physical activity, limiting alcohol consumption, and maintaining a diet low in animal fats and high in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Recently, the American Cancer Society recommended that people at average risk of CRC begin regular screening at age 45 instead of 50.
